The series covers the actions of a small special state police unit created by the governor of Hawaii to investigate serious crimes on the islands. The team is headed by Steve McGarrett as it investigates crimes ranging from terrorism to kidnapping. McGarrett chooses as his partner Honolulu PD Detective Danny Williams. He fills out the team by selecting Chin Ho Kelly, an ex HPD officer who was trained by McGarrett's father and Chin's cousin, a rookie cop named Kono Kalakaua.
After the terrorist responsible for his father's murder is apprehended, a mysterious criminal interrogates him about Steve looking into his father's old cases. This figure is later revealed to be "Wo Fat", a criminal with ties to the Yakuza, and is possibly responsible for the carbomb murder of Steve's mother. When his father looked into this (as a member of the HPD Organized Crime Task Force), he began to dig too far into the corruption, forcing him to lay off the investigation. He saved everything he uncovered in a toolbox, which he left to Steve in the hopes of picking up where he left off.
After going after this crimelord, whose ties include even the governor, McGarrett first meets Wo Fat.
While Five-0 races to stop a mad bomber before he kills again, Danny gets an unexpected visit from his little brother, Matt, a fun-loving, Wall Street broker. Hawaii Five-0 is an American procedural crime drama television series and a re-imagining of the original 1968-1980 television series. It follows an elite unit/task force set up to fight crime in the state of Hawaii.
In this episode, Five-0 hunts for a bomber who is threatening the islands. Meanwhile, Danny gets an unexpected visit from his younger brother (Dane Cook).
Five-0 must find a bomber out for revenge before he can set more bombs and kill more people. Danny's brother Matt is in town but a family reunion isn't the reason. Despite the Big Kahuna having given away an important plot development in an interview, the conclusion still contained a mean little sting courtesy of Steve in the latest episode of Hawaii Five-0.
It's not just one man holding things together, but the collective that makes the Five-O such a force to be reckoned with.
It was actually Lachey's real life fiancee, Vanessa Minnillo, who got the screen time, here. After a brief introduction in the beginning of the episode, Lachey only returned at the end, now wearing a pirate/ninja mask which did very little to hide his luscious boyband lips. Yes, we knew it was you all along, the former Mr. Jessica Simpson!
But that didn't take anything away from another great episode of "Hawaii Five-0." There were plenty of awesome one-liners (Danno asking McGarrett if he comes from Krypton) and a number of nifty stunts (Kono leaping across an escalator, McGarrett leaping through a window, grandees, exploding phonebooks) and a sweet emotional note (Kono standing among the reunited kids and their parents). Oh, and a visit from Kamekona is always a treat, even he doesn't bring any shave ice.
