Season of the Witch is an upcoming supernatural thriller movie, directed by Dominic Sena, and starring Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman. It was shot on location in Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the perpetrator of the plague, instructions the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a distant abbey, where monks will carry out a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.

A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth (Robert Sheehan) be a part of a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl.
It's the season of the witch. And the vampire. And the werewolf. And normal supernatural sexiness and thrills. Truly, it has been for fairly some time with an unholy host of buff beasts, dishy demons, and ghouls you'd prefer to get it on with frolicking in flicks from The Howling and Underworld, to the Twilight saga, Jennifer's Body, Legion, and so forth -- and now Nicolas Cage's Season of the Witch. Two knights, ex-Crusader Cage and Ron Perlman should accomplish a medieval mission inconceivable: escort an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a distant abbey where monks wearing WWII gas masks designed for toucans or another large-beaked fowl (effectively, that's what they seem like) will involve her in some ceremony that may rid the world of the Black Plague, which they sensibly blame on sorcery. All this occurs while they trek by way of gloomy woods prowled by ferocious wolves (that the witch, it seems, summoned to kill them, not change into half-naked have been-hotties who actually need to be their boyfriends) in a period setting pumped up by a 21st-century rock 'n' roll soundtrack and aerial witch fu acrobatics. Add to that a dark-eyed, albeit grubby, minx who innocently asks, "You're not afraid me, are you?" -- although we all know from the trailer voice-over that she sees the weakness that lies in our hearts and will use it in opposition to us (shudder) -- and Cage using his steamiest, grittiest voice to growl manly commands like "Finish it!"

The Story : Season of the Witch is a supernatural thriller film. Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the perpetrator of the plague, commands the 2 knights to move an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will carry out a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence. A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) be part of a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl. The film is currently taking pictures new scenes reported to be a prologue on the Korda Studios near Budapest.

After watching all the above previewed in Season of the Witch's trailer, who would not pant with theatrical anticipation? (Maybe anybody who has endured the majority of Cage's motion pictures, especially those of the past decade.) Perhaps this may very well be a groundbreaking epic, with Cage becoming the first Oscar-successful actor to do an erotic Exorcist-esque levitating sex scene. (Within the trailer opening Foy actually thrashes like a lady possessed.) Or was that already achieved by Jack Nicholson in Witches of Eastwick?
