Some people just dont realize why Taylor Swift is so well-received. I do, and I will try to explain.
We live in a world of technology. This technology has found its path into popular music. Most hit singles are extravagant studio produced concoctions, therefore Taylor Swift may seem a bit weak by comparison, but that is a long way from the truth.
Taylor Swift is primarily a songwriter, and an accomplished one at that. Many artists today dont write their own songs, they are basically adding their style to a super mix that is meant to sell. For the most part there is no high-tech in Taylors music. No super powerful kick drums, no vocoder on the voice. Many times she is just a girl with a guitar.
Make no mistake, the songs she writes are outstanding. Many of her songs could be covered by many other artists and do well, but personally, I would rather hear Taylor sing them. Her songs are full of emotions and very catchy. Many of her fans greatly identify with what she is singing. This is Taylors most powerful asset. Millions of fans feel that they empathize what Taylor is saying, and they probably do.
This identification has lead to a very particular situation. Her fans want to know her better. They want to meet her. They want her as a friend. The good news is many of them do get to meet her, for she has made herself availble to them as much as possible. This is Taylors secret weapon. A weapon that will endeavor to boost her career into the legend category. In my opinion, you will still be hearing from Taylor many years from now.
One of the refreshing things about Taylor Swift is that she really seems to acknowledgeher fortune. She seems sincerely grateful for the success she is having. She even put this appreciation into one of her songs called "Long Live".
Put this all together and you have the makings of a legendary star.I can only hope that Taylor stays true to her music, her soul, and stays far away from the temptations of her industry. I wish her all the success she deserves, and she deserves a lot.
