3 Keys To Making More Money In Your Small Business In Half the Time
Here are 3 keys that will allow you to make a lot more money - and free up a lot more of your time.
And just to let you know, by doing these I am currently working only 3 days a week - yet making twice as much money as I did when I was working 60 hours a week.
1. Spend most of your time doing the highest value tasks in your business.
Different tasks in our business have different levels of value.
If we spend 80% of our time doing the highest value tasks (meaning those that bring the most money)- we will have a greater financial impact and free up a lot more of our time.
Here are some high value tasks that we should always be doing:
-Establishing relationships with high value referral sources.
-Delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.
-Training and developing the leaders in our organization.
-Establishing effective processes and systems.
-Feeding and nurturing our database of potential customers.
Make sure you only do high value tasks, and delete, delegate, defer or design out anything else that is not of highest value.
2. Find talented and reliable people
If you want to multiply your efforts, you need to find the kind of people that can do what you do, or do it better. You can find these people in the form of employees, professional relationships or outsourcing solutions.
Yet what kind of criteria should you look for in these people?
Here are characteristics you should always look for:
-Character- strong moral character and integrity.
-Competence- the ability to get the job done.
-Charisma- the ability to motivate others.
-Creativity- the ability to find a way to make things happen.
If you find the right team - there truly is nothing the organization cannot accomplish. Best of all, they are self-motivated enough to do the work for you - freeing up your time, and making you a whole lot more money.
3. Automate, automate, automate.
Automation is the ability to get work done without "you" doing it. It is being able to find ways to get the result you want with very little effort on your part.
Here are just a few tools that can greatly automate your business:
-Checklists- Instead of micro managing your people, use checklist to help your people to thoroughly complete their tasks. Have them sign it for extra accountability.
-Scripts- If you have the ability to close a lot of sales, or deliver outstanding customer satisfaction - develop scripts that your people can use to get the same results that you do.
-Video tutorials- Use Jing or Cam Studio to record 5 minute tutorials for your people to look over in case they need answers or additional training.

-FAQs and Discussion Forums - Create a list of answers for customer's most frequent questions. Or create a place they can get their questions answered to reduce the amount of calls that you get.
