Choosing A Catchy Business Name
The name is oviously very important when choosing a limited company. Many people may choose the first name they think of or people may choose an already existing name. However, many company's keep it a priority to clearly keep their name aprt from their competition. Company names can be chosen for different reasons.
Most people end up choosing something personal when selecting their own business name. Personalized business names can be found in numerous examples in local newspapers. Johnson Johnson, TJ & Smith, BI+L are all some examples of what could be found. One24 is another example. This may instantly make a company recognisable locally, it can be deemed as more personal by its customers, and often works well within geographical areas. This really does very little to tell your new customers what you are all about.
describtive names are the best choices for small businesses. This specifically shows a looking client what your company does and how it opporates. Some examples would be to call yourself "Window Company" or IT Support Stamford. The problem with this is that it does not set you aside from your competition.
The less personal approach would be a generic and associative company name. This type of name helps draw attending and build a relationship with your customers. This is less direct than a standard name. A flick through your local yellow page book would offer endless examples of this. A hairdresser called Classic Cuts or a printer called Selectaprint Limited are examples of what may be found. These names usually offer some soft of differnce but do not competely set your company apart from your competition.
A freestanding company name can also work well. These abstract names are not related to the copmany or business activites at all. One fictional example would be to call your catering company Henry Limited. There a many brand names that are popular that proeve this point. Cosider names like Apple, Microsoft ect, instanstly regognizable. This is a good way of setting your company aside from the competition but it is important to consider the market that you operate in. Will your clients know what type of industry you are offering?
Choosing a company name may be a simple process, but it is not uncommon for people to deliberate over names for quite some time. It is possible to change a company name later down the road but it is best just to start off with one that satifies you. Consider your market and how you are different. Once the decision is done the only ting left is success.
