Alongside their mother Nora Holden, Nora's brother Saul Holden, Sarah's husband (now ex-husband) Joe Whedon, Tommy's wife Julia Walker, Kevin's husband Scotty Wandell and mysterious Holly Harper. And last but not least Rebecca, Holly's daughter. Who they originally thought was their half sister but later found out they had a half brother, Ryan instead, the Walkers struggle through their everyday lives.
Justin has struck up a friendly relationship with Annie, the nurse who assists Holly during her therapy sessions. David isn't happy about Justin hanging around "visiting" Holly (or Annie) because Justin see's something isn't right - David is high - and not on life.
When David and Justin return from a successful meeting, Holly shows them some things she found while they were out. One of the items is the engagement ring David gave her before the accident. Holly remembers it and how she felt when she first got it. Justin tries to leave but Holly stops him. Holly wants him to stop using her and David as a way to hold onto Rebecca. Maybe now he is ready to go on a date with Annie.
Sarah and Kitty decide to partner in a new business venture. The partnership gets off to a rocky start when Sarah discovers that Nora may have steered Kitty away from developing her business skills many years ago. Nora didn't want Kitty to outshine Sarah as a businesswoman.
At a mother/daughter photo shoot to promote Nora's show Sarah and Kitty bicker until Nora loses it. Nora explains that both girls were always two different people who were guided based one who they "were." Now they are blaming their mom for who they "are." Nora realizes that maybe Dr. Karl was right.
Nora cancels the photo shoot and apologizes to Dr. Karl. Dr. Karl asks Nora out for a drink.
