This ABC crime drama, Detroit 1-8-7, follows Detective Louis Fitch (Michael Imperioli, The Sopranos) and his fellow police officers as they struggle to keep Detroit crime-free. Originally intended to be shot as a documentary-style show, the format was then revamped to remove the fictional film crew altogether.
Detroit 1-8-7 is an upcoming American drama series that will air on ABC in Fall 2010.The series stars Michael Imperioli as Detective Louis Fitch, a respected while deeply misunderstood man fighting crime on the streets of Detroit. Episodes will air on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC beginning September 21, 2010.The first season will feature 12 episodes. The pilot episode was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, although the series is set to film in Detroit.
Again, this isn't a sure sign of cancellation for those shows either. But of the six mentioned above, several are top-rated among adults ages 18-49 -- most notably, "Modern Family." As pointed out several times before, ratings for "Detroit 1-8-7" have staggered among adults ages 18-49, only netting between 8 and 9 million viewers each week -- including an all-time low of around 5 million viewers last week. One saving grace for "Detroit 1-8-7" is its cost of production, which is relatively cheaper as the show is filmed in Detroit rather than New York or Los Angeles. Still, viewers will have to stay tuned as ABC continues to announce which shows are in and which are out.
The team "goes Hollywood," inspecting the high profile killing of a movie star who had been taping in Detroit. Actress Kristin Keller was many things to many people - a meal ticket to some, a lover to others. But Fitch, Washington and Mason have to expose her secret life, the life unknown to her fans, to find the murderer. For the meantime, the weird case of a young poor man found upside down enclosed in ice in a shantytown muddles Longford, Mahajan, Stone and Sanchez. The investigators realize that the fleeting had another totally different life before his ancestry into hell, as they piece together the confusing evidences in his frightening death.

Brown as Cameron Jones, Amanda Mason Warren as Rachel Cook-Jones, Bernardo De Paula as Michel, LaRoyce Hawkins as Dorsey Gamble, Gregory Anderson as Coe Levin, Jake Cohen as Jason Gabler, Greta Honold as Laurel. This episode was written by Byron Balasco and directed by Paul Edwards.
"People in Detroit were not crazy about the show in the beginning, but it's great to see the folks in that city become such champions of that show." Last month, ABC announced the series will end its first season in March after an 18-episode run. The Dana Delany medical/crime procedural "Body of Proof" will take over its Tuesday night slot starting March 29. Although "Detroit 1-8-7" debuted to an impressive 9.8 million viewers nationally and tremendous fanfare locally, ratings have been decreasing every week.
