Are you ready to put some bass back in your walk? Logo is bringing us Christmas in January with a supersized 90-minute Season 3 premiere of "RuPaul's Drag Race" on Monday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. ET.
It's "Desperate Housewives" and "Ugly Betty" star Vanessa Williams and Zap2it has an exclusive sneak peek of the diva's enchantments above. "Who better to judge other drag queens than other drag queens?" RuPaul tells Zap2it.
So Vanessa wanted to get involved, because of her daughter who loves the show so much."
"We did want to raise the bar and that's what we did," RuPaul says. "We wanted the level of skill to be as high as possible. And that's exactly what happened. Especially with $75,000 at stake, the queens really had to bring their A-game."
The show was greenlit in May 2008, according to a press release by MTV Networks. It premiered in the U.S. on February 2, 2009 on Logo. It premiered in Canada on the MuchMore network on Sunday, February 15, 2009. The show also airs at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the VH1 network, but due to contractual obligations with Logo, this is not being promoted.
RuPaul's Drag Race is back! And it's cattier and more fabulous than ever. In the show's season 3 premiere, which airs Monday (10 p.m. ET) on Logo, the show's host pulls a Project Runway on the contestants.
The superstar singer, Adam Lambert was photographed walking the red carpet at the premiere event for the new season of RuPaul's Drag Race in Los Angeles, California.
As JustJared reports, Adam Lambert attended the event that was held at Rage last night in West Hollywood. The singer as of late has been photographed attending various parties, and was photographed at a pre-Golden Globes gift suite.
Lambert's debut album, For Your Entertainment has been a huge hit with fans in various parts of the world, and the fans are looking forward to seeing what 2011 will have in store for him. Next month, the singer's hit single, "Whataya Want From Me"
"Using only funky old clothes and used household materials, you need to ho ho ho it up by creating your jolliest holiday drag look," Ru explains. "You can use your own wigs, shoes and undergarments but the rest of your outfit has to be thrift store couture."
The first season was marked as the most successful launch for the three-year-old Logo network. Traffic to the show's web site broke records. A second season was taped in late 2009. Casting began May 1, 2009. It started airing in February of 2010; promotional videos featuring each of the new contestants were released on the LOGO website.
In an episode of The Insider, RuPaul describes the series: "you have to remember... we're queens. So, there's gonna be drama. Lots of it!"
RuPaul also describes what qualities the contestants must have to be crowned winner of the show. "We're really looking for charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent... These are people who have taken adversity and turned it into something that is beautiful and something powerful."
To be a winner on this show the contestants need to be a fashion designer, an American Idol, and a top model all rolled up into one. And they definitely have to be smarter than a fifth grader."
One of the contestants of each season to compete on RuPaul's Drag Race was determined by an audience vote via the show's official website.
