Frazier acknowledged that he's evaluating some of the quarterbacks at the Senior Bowl, but he didn't name anyone in particular.
Today's Senior Bowl 2011 gives some of the nation's top graduating seniors a prime opportunity to showcase their talents and impress NFL scouts.
"He's more athletic than Tim Tebow was. He's faster than Tim Tebow was," NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said. "He's got some mechanical issues, but he's got a big arm. Somebody's going to want to develop him."
By no means is he viewed as a first-round draft pick but many teams will be more than willing to invest a middle round draft pick to bring him on board as a long term project.
Kaepernick has yet to prove that he has the same kind of leaderships skills and drive that allowed Tebow to win a Heisman trophy and a pair of national championships with the Florida Gators.
"I'm going to do it just to prove you wrong. That was my attitude when people said that I was not going to be a Division I quarterback and that I didn't have the [ability]. So from that point on, I had it in my mind that I was going to prove everybody wrong. I was not going to let people tell me what I'm capable of."
That's just unfair for Kaepernick or the team that draft's him.
With a big performance in this game, and in the practices beforehand, prospects can make a big run up or down the draft board. Therefore, the Senior Bowl 2011 will be watched very closely by many NFL franchises.
Teams like the Panthers, Broncos, Bengals and others may have their draft picks already set. Most of the big guns are juniors or sophomores, so today's game might not alter the top of the order.
At the moment, they're still proceeding as if they will, however.
Yet the largest impact may have been made before the game. Three days of practice have helped several players rise up, while others have had their stock go down.
Meanwhile, the Senior Bowl 2011 practices have been less kind to fellow Pac-10 prospect Jake Locker. A year ago, the Washington quarterback was projected to be a top pick.
Doing well would certainly build momentum for the final rush to April, although they still must prove it isn't a mirage.
