Fast And Easy Troubleshooting Steps To Fix That Svchost Error

Computer application errors are becoming more and more common nowadays. One of the common errors one may have encountered is the svchost error. Do not fret though because this can be fixed by understanding its causes and symptoms and by following the troubleshooting tips indicated below.

The scvhost.exe application looks into the registry and lists down the services able for your system which are necessary to be loaded. Hence, the normal functioning of your computer is entirely dependent on this application. Moreover, if there is a damage or corrupted file in your computer system's registry, then there will be an error in this application?the svchost error. Other symptoms that show your system has this error is when your computer becomes slower and when you suddenly experience reboots, crashed or blue screens. And when this error pops up, then there will be the options of either terminating the program or debugging it.

So how do you actually fix the scvhost error? Here is how:

First, on the Start menu, click Run. Type the command services.msc in the box and then click Ok. Doing this will let you access the Windows updates. Now, you should be able to see the automatic update services. Open it.

If you have accessed the Log On tab, make sure to choose the local system account option. You can do this by unchecking the "allow service to interact with the desktop" option. Afterwards, in the Log On section, enable the service in the hardware profile section. At this point, you would have to change the automatic option in the startup type.

After completing this process, you would have to register the windows dll then remove the corrupted Windows Updates files. To do this, click Run again on the Start menu. Enter the words CMD. A black command box will open. Key in REGSVR32 WUAPI.DLL and press Enter. Then just wait for this message "DllRegisterServer in WUAPI.DLL succeeded." Afterwards, repeat these steps for each of the commands listed below. Just key in each command and press Enter after each line:

REGSVR32 WUAUENG.DLL
REGSVR32 WUAUENG1.DLL
REGSVR32 ATL.DLL
REGSVR32 WUCLTUI.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS.DLL
REGSVR32 WUPS2.DLL

Now, you have to delete the corrupted windows update files. To do this, key in this command in the command prompt and press Enter?net stop WuAuServ. Key in cd %windir%. Press Enter. Then key in: ren SoftwareDistribution SD_OLD. this is to rename the software distribution folder. Afterwards, key in this command: net start WuAuServ. This will restart the windows update service. Exit and press enter to close the command prompt. Finally, reboot your PC.
