Memories and Charm Bracelets

Author: wfiqartexclu

All of us carry thoughts that we cherish in life. A few of us collect photos while others want something a bit more meaningful- something they could carry around with them as they grow and skill different things in life.

Many have come to believe that moments in one's life can be magical in a sense. Think of that little thing you kept within your pocket that would raise your self-confidence or that little rabbit's foot you carried around. We try to find things to fill the gaps for what we expect we lack. After all, who couldn't use a little bit of magic in their lives?

At first look , charm bracelets can be mistaken for another girlish accessory, but to many a charm bracelet tend to be something more than just a chain wrapped round their wrist. It is a chain of memories- an item with sentimental value plus a keepsake for life. A charm bracelet allows an person to create memories which are tangible through the use of "charms": decorative trinkets used to indicate important events in one's life. Others believe charms can bring a person certain qualities and energy like love, positivity, and success. Do they work? Why would one want to use such a thing?

A Little bit of Magic

Well for one, charm bracelets have been around for 1000s of years, these seemingly small items have been utilized by early civilizations such as the Egyptians, Early Africans, as well as the Romans. From the very beginning people would make little items out of animal bones, shells, and clay. You could possibly ask: why would anyone do that? It only goes to show how we have that internal need of self preservation and importance, that feeling of being remembered somehow. At first most of these items were used as adornments, and then later became key symbols of luck and faith. Many used them as identifiers for their Gods in the afterlife.

Much has changed since then, and as civilizations progressed, it began to become a way of style for many. Queen Victoria herself began the trend of wearing charm braces as a fashion statement among the European noble classes.
Not manly enough in your case? Even soldiers during the World War brought back trinkets from local craftsmen for their loved ones and memories of what they went through.
