It is life long disease which affects the interaction and communication ability of the person. The child with autism behave in a different manner comparing with others. Usually they have speaking problem, so the child could not express his feeling with words.

The autistic child's parent can understand, but it is not so for the neighbors to know about the situation. Reality is unknown for them. Some facts which are important that will help them to understand is given below.

Many theories quote the possible etiology of autism. Few feel that is because of the mercury in the vaccines that are given to children. While some other theory stays that it is because of age of the parents. But the more appropriate theory is that autism is because of genetic and environmental factors.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is the another name of autism. This is because some may be mentally retarded and non-verbal while some may be verbal & bright. There are varied range of symptoms in different children with autism. Social communication is the main symptom seen in most of the patients. Autism children do not have the ability to maintain good eye contact, to have proper conversation with others, or take one's perspective etc.

Autism and Asperger Syndrome have some similarities. These two have common problems. Speech is developed at correct age in Asperger Syndrome, but in Autism it is delayed. Otherwise, the people with Asperger Syndrome are bright and verbal.

It is a common fact that every individual is different from another. Similarly, each autism child differs from other. Few may be quite, while the others speaks much. Some may be affected physically with GIT problems, sensory problems, difficulty in sleep, etc, whereas some have problem in social communication. Even if the disease is the same, the symptoms they have varies in each individual.

Though medical science has improved a lot there is no proper treatment for autism. Though there a different ways by which their skills can be improved they still cannot remain as normal children. Some treatments for autism are behavioral, biomedical, sensory, developmental or even arts-based. For some child particular treatment works well compared to others.

It is a common fact that autism is a life long disease. By appropriate treatment the symptoms can become mild. Without depending others, they can try to do their activities of daily living. Also their social communication can be improved.

If one has autism in a family, that will be more a stress to all. They have to withstand many adverse conditions. So at this time, the support of relatives and friends is important. By this way they can overcome this situation. This support will give them more motivation.
