Bachata Dance: 7 Keys to Learning Bachata

I was raised in Chicago and I have been teaching bachata for around 5 years. Even though I often teach modern patterns and sensual club combos; I mainly instruct traditional Dominican style footwork and partnering and I am internationally known for my bachata music understanding or musicality workshop.

Lesson One: Practice. Practice. Practice. There isn't any alternative for taking care of those things that you'll want to improve on and to help you find your strengths. While everyone else was practicing their salsa dance patterns, my partner and I were all about bachata. You ought to focus on your bachata dance patterns, footwork and partnering skills.

Lesson Two: Educate Your Ear. It's important to learn how to listen to bachata music more deeply so that you can make outthe different instruments and their rhythms in the music.
